Yes! That is correct! I co-host a dream band themed podcast called 'Pick N Licks' with my dear friend, Daniel Hayes. To date, we have released over 50 episodes, manifesting dream bands for our guests!
(Guests including Steve Jewel Jr of 'Black Stone Cherry', Dick Valentine of 'Electric Six', Mike Tramp of 'White Lion', James Norbert Ivanyi, and Naim Cortazzi of 'Fun Loving Criminals'.)
Meeting other likeminded musicians, and music fanatics is wonderful. The podcast isn't just about the dream band premise though, but it gives us all a chance to hear the guest's 'Origin Story', paint a picture of how their influences have shaped their sound & life, and generally have a laugh. Daniel Hayes classes himself as AN IDEAS MAN, who is a self proclaimed VERY LIGHT ENTERTAINER! I am thrilled to be a part of this project, and have a right laugh in the process. In fact, it has become something of a family project, my daughter helps with samples, and my wife is the Executive Producer, organising and booking guests.
As lighthearted and daft as the podcast can be, we maintain a theme and structure throughout. One might say, we are rather professional at times.

Guest Interview
The 'Meat' of the episode! We hear about the lives of our guests, what got them into music, and any new music releases/tour dates.

You will be surprised how many times these are misread or not followed, for which there is an appropriate punishment during the Evaluation Process.
Dream Band Process
This is where the guest chooses each memebr of their dream band lineup, sharing stories and such.

The Evaluation Process
This is where Dan and I review the choices, share our thoughts, and generally chat a lot of rubbish!
"Would you go see this band?"
Spoiler alert, we always go see the band!
"Would you buy a T-Shirt?"
This is a fun section, we design a t-shirt based on the choices, band name, and tend to enforce any rule break repercussions here.

In a nutshell, this is the general format. The bottom line though is that we have fun, and we are trying to inject a little bit of joy into the world via the universal language of music!
We write and record all our own samples for every single episode too! Some better than others....
If you told me I would be doing this a few years back, I would probably have laughed. The beauty of the whole project is meeting and chatting with other people. Dan and I have been having conversations like this for donkey's years, we just didn't have a microphone in front of us now!
The Podcast is growing faster than we ever imagined, and what started out as a laugh seems to be growing momentum with a network of dedicated listeners.
